Rev Ezekiel
- Rev. Mark defined “Sin” as violating your conscience.
A classical example is the life of Richard Ngidi, he thought he made Reinhard Bonnkke and his ministry. Richard Ngidi was gifted to perform signs and wonders, so it was recorded that at that time, when Reinhard Bonnke finish preaching the Salvation message to the people, he will give room to Richard Ngidi to pray for the sick, and the miraculous will break forth instantly.
As time went on, Richard Ngidi began to think of himself as the maker of Reinhard Bonnkke. After all, he was the man doing the main thing yet Reinhard Bonnke was taking the credit and the ministry bears Bonnkke’s name too. He said to Reinhard Bonnkke’s assistant ‘The day I leave Bonnkke that day will mark the end of him and his ministry’.
One day in a crusade he was to minister, he didn’t show up purposefully, which happens to be the last time they ministered together. Bonnkke waited for him yet he did not show up. frustrated and disappointed Reinhard mounted the platform fully depending on the Holy Spirit this time, and God used him mightily that day in miracles and that marked the beginning of his ministerial success in performing miracles through Bonnke. Instead of that day being the end of Bonnkke, It became his beginning and unfortunately the end of Ngidi.
It is so easy to judge a sinful person and fall in the same trap. As believers, we walk on a fine line; the probability of tipping over to the other side is so easy, but you must be intentional to refuse to fall into sin.
Rev. Steve Mensah once said,”If your you are serving in a church, assume you are working in an organization and your pay is a reward for your work “. In an organization, the moment you resign all your rewards are taken away. For example in a company, you’ll lose insurance and all other benefits. When the Lord gives you an opportunity to serve, serve with a clear and conscious mind to prevent falling into sin. Richard Ngidi violated his conscience; a powerful man of God falled into sin and at the end of the crusade, he missed, God used Bonkke to manifest his work in the lives of his people. The moment you step away the Lord replaces you easily.
In the book of Matthew 7:2, it says do not judge for the measure at which you’ll judge, you’ll be judged.” When you start judging others, you forget your bad traits that you must be working on, and you are more likely to fall into sin. We must continually judge ourselves to not fall in the ditch.
2. Sin is a creep.
GENESIS 4-6-15, sin is right at the door looking for the opportunity for the enemy to come in. Sin waits for the perfect time to creep in. eg. sin is like social media, you go to view a message and you’ll be on the device for hours, viewing things beyond the message you went to see, expanding in sin. Don’t give sin the opportunity to enter into your abode. It starts as small and expands, it’s territory in your life, then at last your life will be ruined.
3.Sin is a reproach
Reproach means express to (someone) one’s disapproval of or disappointment in their actions:
Proverbs 14:34
‘Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people’
Jeffrey Epstein was a prominent person in society but tarnished his image when the files came out. He and his acquaintances ate babies and did profane things, among other Jeffrey Epstein was above sin and untouchable. They eat human flesh to signify that they are more powerful than humans. In certain positions, You must either have Christ or the enemy. In high heights in life, everything is spiritual. No one would like to be related to people who have tarnished their image by committing a renowned sin. No one would like to be related to Epistein at this point and age.Very wealthy people need a spiritual backing, and this spiritual backing is important in the lives of these wealthy people. They understand the spiritual and they choose which side they want to be. You can only have two sides; the Lord or the enemy. When you commit to the Lord, you must submit to Him. When you submit to the enemy, you will be under his control. Doing all that is required to protect your wealth.
In the the life of Jeffrey Eipstein and seen in his files, sin took him into a position that brings shame and dishonor to your people. A good name is better than riches.
A good name is better than riches, be careful to associate with good companies doing good to prevent sin no matter the circumstances you find yourselve.
4. Sin is a yoke
A yoke is placed on the animal to allow the person in position to control the bulls on assignment to work. The bulls may not know the assignment, but the controller knows the assignment and will put the bulls through it.
Yoke has no rest
It takes control
A yoke is shown below that discomforts the animal and puts them at the mercy of their control. A yoke is placed not so tight to die and not so comfortable to possess. It restricts you from doing some things. The person who is yoked cannot be unyoked themselves. Yoked doesnot seek for grace, it seeks for justice. Yoke is always locked behind you, so it is impossible to unlock it. It has no respect for status whether a pastor, a prominent person or a vagabond in society. Far as the one leading has an assignment for the day, the yoked will do that assignment. Yoke is a sin and all is seeking to take up your life and control you.
In Isaiah 10:27,it says “ In that day their burden will be lifted from your shoulders, their yoke from your neck; the yoke will be broken because you have grown so far”.
Any architect understands their plan than any other person; what you may think is a mess, the architect knows the finished work before the artifact is erected. When an artist sees a big giant of rock and says, I want this rock and buys it from you or you give it out for free because you might not care for it. You may not see the beauty of the rock. When the rock is made beautiful, then you go to his gallery to ask for the rock, and you must pay for it because he has now crafted the rock to look pleasing to your eyes. He has increased the value of the rock to be made beautiful in the eyes of others
This scenario depicts how we see things, but we do not know the value of the things we see.
Jesse had seven or eight sons. Samuel went to Jesse to anoint a king, but when he saw all the sons, the Lord said none of them were selected by the Lord. According to the Bible, by appearance, the sons of Jesse were qualified but Samuel chose the shepherd as the Lord selected. A person who has been guiding sheep, who does not possess a high ranking in society to be the King. This also shows how the Lord knows the qualified , not by looks but my skills and qualities. David had been trained and was capable of serving the Lord’s people in Israel.
Jesus was crucified, he was not recognised as an important person at the time he lived. He was humiliated. They didn’t know the finished work of Christ through crucifixion. There is grace to break the yoke that the enemy has held us hostage. Even the disciples did not know or understand the finished work. At the Transfiguration, they wanted to stay at Mount Tabor, where the transfiguration happened.
The middle man, Jesus Christ, saves and cleanses all sins and sets us free, making us right with the Lord to call us children of God. It does not matter the sin you have committed; Jesus places grace at our doorsteps to break the yoke.
Lord, help us to refrain from violating our conscience.
