The Mystery Of Prayer

Welcome to the month of September. A month of double portions and blessings in your life. This Sunday was the last of Apostle Awotwi’s North American visit. We bless him for the shift in the atmosphere he has brought us even from the start of August. We pray for traveling mercies that he will reach home at CEM Ghana headquarters safely. God richly bless you apostle.

This Sunday, God’s message through the apostle was the mystery of Prayer. How profound and transcendent. Apostle wasted no time and got deep by saying everything about God is a mystery. A mystery is something we cannot explain, it beats our imagination. We can’t fathom it but we have to just accept it as it is. Keeping to our dictionary, when you look up synonyms for the word mystery, supernatural comes up. Our human brains cannot process the way God moves. Science and math cannot condense or comprehend it. Apostle cited people in the Bible who experienced this mystery of God. Sarah, Elizabeth, and the woman with the issue of blood were are all examples of the unnatural (by human standards) outcomes of prayer. May the power of prayer work mysterious things in our lives. When we pray, our prayer must be backed by faith. Apostle blesses us by prophesying that “may our prayer accomplish things in the realms of the spirit. Things man cannot do, prayer will be able to do”.

Apostle Awotwi gave us 4 reasons why prayer is a mystery. He starts with #1, saying Prayer is a weapon. Hebrews 4:12 (amp). As the word of God is a double sided sword, such is prayer. Apostle quotes the Bible in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 “The weapons of our warfare are not physical but divinely powered to destroy fortresses”. Here he reminds us that when our enemies come against us physically, we must come against them spiritually. We operate differently- by God’s divine intervention. We have to ask God for the anointing to pray and let him do the unimaginable in our lives. May the Lord fight on our behalf.

Apostle says the second thing making prayer a mystery is Prayer is the key that opens supernatural doors. He says “By the power of prayer we will open supernatural doors in our lives. Supernatural doors of favor and blessing”. Taken back to the story of Esther, we are reminded how Esther was denied access to the king. Of course she wouldn’t take that denial but she turned to prayer and eventually, the king himself handed her the scepter of authority over his kingdom. May prayer bring us connections and open doors for us.

Thirdly, Prayer is a mystery because when you sew prayer you will reap increase. In that same effect, If we don’t sew anything, we will not reap anything. Apostle highlights Numbers 14:28 “Just as you have spoken, I will do to you”. This means as we pray, God will do whatever we ask of him if, and only if, it aligns with his will. Galatians 6:7 “What a man sews is exactly and only what he will reap”. Our prayer is more than powerful, it is real. Apostle prophecies that what God has not planted in our lives shall be uprooted. As we sow seeds of prayer, may God make them come to his fruition. Don’t give up on prayer because at the proper time, we will harvest. May the prophecies of God unfold in our lives.

Lastly, but most interestingly, prayer is a mystery because prayer rises before the Lord like incense. Apostle takes us to Revelations 8:1-5. It was shown that as we pray, there is an angel assigned to each of us that collects our prayers as incense, burns them on the altar of God which rises to Gods nostrils. As God smells and accepts our prayers, our answers are sent down as thunders, earthquakes, and lightning which will defeat our enemy’s camp. Do not let your censer be empty. Have an aroma to present to the Lord. May the mystery of prayer bring us victory and open great doors in our lives.

This Sunday’s article is a little longer but I believe God had more to reveal to us. Thank you again Apostle for releasing God’s anointing on us. Have a blessed week all.
