SERIES Notes of Teaching Service- Sin and Judgement

Preaching By Reverend Mark Ampah

1 Chronicles 21: 1-17

David numbered the people to know his strength. God is saying that is not how you measure my strength

David realized the folly in numbering the people because God had always been on his side

David got pompous but God came into reming him where his strength comes from

With God he will always find mercy

The sin was depending on human strength

Reliance on people is sinful. You must rely on God and he will provide people to help you.

Verse 3-5

Leaders should depend on God not the people but God can use the people around you to speak to you

If you look at your strength, you will become prideful

When we do something our motive is important

Exodus 40:11-16

Every home must give a shekel

Even when we know right from wrong and choose to do what we want outside of God’s will we have sinned

The devil feeds on the desires of people and the enemy can use that to work against you

God spoke to the seer because since separates us from God and he didn’t speak to David directly

When David accepted responsibility for his sin, the Lord had spared him
