HISTORY OF SAUL’S DESCENDANTS
Saul was anointed but disobeidient, his throne was taken away from him
When Saul and his sons died. The people decided to wipe his family away as that was the tradition of the MiddleEast.
Abner, the cheif commander, made Ishbosheth king of israel for 2 years to prevent Saul’s family from being wiped out
Ishbosheth lied on Abner so Abner left Ishbosheth.
Ishbosheth wanted an opportunity to kill David.
Two people killed Ishbosheth on his bed and sent his head to David,( 2 Samuel 4:8)
David executed the people who killed Ishbosheth because King David.(2 Samuel 4:10-12)
David made a vow to show kindness to the seed of Jonathan and he fufilled his promise (1Samuel 20:17)
Lo Debar was a pastureless land whichout the Word of God.It represents a place of isolation, desolation and limitation.
David sent Mephibosheth to come and eat from the King’s table in Jerusalem.
Jerusalem means place of praise.
Mephibosheth didn’t give excuses when David asked for him . When the Lord invites us we should come just as we are.
We must not be afraid of The Lord when the Lord wants to turn our lives around(1 Samuel 9:7)
Leave everything to God( 2 Samuel 9:9)
Whatever you have lost, God can restore it
The Lord will move into your place of limitation and take you to place of abundance( Joel 2:27),
Have faith in Christ and He’ll exalt you (Ephesians 2:8-9)
The invitation was the initiative of David the King. Mephebosheth didn’t have to do anything
Mephibosheth was disabled but God remembered him. No matter the struggles or faults of life, God can still bless you
God’s favour last a lifetime( Psalm 30:45)
