ABOUT US
CEM Bronx is more than just a church; it’s a testament to resilience, faith, and community. Our journey began in August 2008 when a small group of expatriate members from CEM Ghana gathered in Bronx, New York, under the guidance of Rev Stanley Mensah. Their vision was to establish CEM in America, starting with the Bronx NY Branch.
From humble beginnings of Saturday evening prayer meetings in a member’s home, we steadily grew, welcoming more members from our homeland, Ghana, and the broader Bronx community. In April 2009, Pastor Joseph Bempah Sarpong was appointed as our Head Pastor, and we moved to a rented space within the Bronx borough, marking a new chapter of growth and evangelization.
Over the years, CEM in America expanded beyond Bronx, reaching Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Texas, Georgia, and Virginia, under the leadership of dedicated pastors and members. Despite facing challenges such as robberies and natural disasters like Hurricane Ida in 2021, we persevered, supported by the unwavering commitment of our congregation.
At CEM Bronx, we believe in the power of faith, resilience, and community. Though our physical location may have changed due to circumstances beyond our control, our mission remains the same: to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and serve our community with love, compassion, and unwavering dedication.
