Rapture and the end time

This sunday we began a new series on The Rapture and the End Time. Reverend Mark Ampah starts off the series this Sunday with his sermon on the topic. This series admonishes us to reflect on our readiness on the second coming of Jesus Christ. Our reward is in the end and we should keep pushing.

Reverend takes us back to the beginning where sin becomes part of mankind because of Adam’s sin but Romans 6:23 came to assure us of Salvation from God. Man was separated from God and needed atonement for reconciliation and Jesus’ blood was/is needed. Reverend continues taking to the birth of Jesus when the wise men traced the time and place Jesus was prophesied to be born and went to see him. From his birth, it was sure Christ came to die for us but also resurrected. The resurrection of Christ gives us assurance that we’ll also resurrect. After the resurrection, the Holy Spirit was released upon the disciples of God (Acts 2:1). This was the birth of the church. The disciples were just teaching the Jews so Christ sent Paul after seeing the Jews that were rejecting Christ (Acts 17:5) so Christ ordained Paul to teach the Gentiles (Galatians 3:14). God wants us to be saved and will go measures to ensure we know he cares.

Reverend takes us to the roots of the word Rapture which comes from a greek word ‘ harpazo’ which means to be snatched away. When there is rapture, anyone who isn’t ready for the church will stay on Earth. In (Matthew 22:12) the Bible gives us a parable of a man who wasn’t properly prepared for a wedding and was exiled to destruction outside the feast. This text relates to how believers that aren’t prepared for Christ’s coming will also be exiled to an eternity of darkness.  After that Christ will come for His people (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, Revelations 14:13) We are promised when a believer dies, it’s temporary, he or she is in a deep sleep, their good deeds follow them. If a believer dies that believer would rise again, if Jesus died and rose again anyone who died in Christ will rise again( 1 Thessalonians 4:16). When a believer dies the soul and spirit which relates to God, goes to Christ. During the rapture, Soul and spirit will reunite with a newly transformed, glorified body unlike those in the grave.

Rapture will be a mid-air gathering with bodies of the dead and living glorified to meet the Lord( 1 Thessalonians 4:17).( John 14:1-3), so rapture is God receiving the Saints to himself.

After Rapture, there will be chaos, confusion on earth. Imagine a pilot operating the plane is raptured and there are unbelievers in the plane? The antichrist will stay on Earth deceiving the people, pretending to love God among the Earth. People will believe the anti christ and he will start ruling over the earth, making it difficult for people to turn to Christ. Then, after gaining mankind’s trust, the antichrist will reveal their true nature, destructing all in their path. Our bodies will be changed from mortal to immortal (1 Corinthians 15:52-53) The Rapture will happen any day, anytime. When he shows up in the clouds, are you ready for Him? Are you ready?

After reading, say this prayer by Reverend Mark “May the LORD help us that none of us would be left behind during the rapture”. That we shall all be raptured and meet the LORD in the air
