Embracing God’s Design: Sex, Marriage, and Grace

HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!!! Today is the 3rd Sunday of the month. We’re already more than halfway done with the year- can you believe it?! We thank God!

Today’s preacher was Reverend Mark Ampah and the topic today was sort of unexpected. God, Sex, and Sexuality. Kinda sounds like a Tyler Perry Movie 😂. Although at first glance it feels unusual or inappropriate to speak on such topics in church, it was refreshing to have an open conversation without feeling awkward. Rev. Mark didn’t make it a scolding, but a teaching on how sex is a sacred act designed by God himself. He even reassured us saying “if God himself didn’t feel embarrassed speaking about it, why should we?”.

Sex is part of the many things God created to display his Grace. It is a promise between married couples to bring life to Earth and glorify God. Anything outside of this promise is sinful and detestable to God. It was poetic to see how this act was weaved into our relationship with God. In Revelation 21:2 it says “ I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband”. We (the church) act as a symbol of the Bride. Jesus is our Bridegroom, who comes to love us in everything and holds our hand just as a groom to his bride. Simply the greatest love story ever told🥹

Special thanks to Rev. Mark Ampah for the preaching and not making it feel like a bad health class. 🤣😅 Tuesday we have bible studies at 8:00 pm. So be there or be square. God bless!

  1. Amazing that he started the series on sex which many shy away from. It’s important we as children of God understand God’s purpose and intention for creating sex.

  2. “God, Sex, and Sexuality? Sounds like the next Netflix hit…but with a holy twist…😅 Big thanks to Rev. Mark for keeping it biblical and not turning it into a ‘birds and bees’ cringe session. 😂🙏”
